Anveshan is an Indian food technology and direct-to-consumer (D2C) company headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Founded in August 2019 by Kuldeep Parewa, Akhil Kansal, and Aayushi Khandelwal, Anveshan specializes in natural, minimally processed food products, including cold-pressed oils, A2 Vedic Bilona ghee, honey, and superfoods. The company leverages technologies like image processing, spectroscopy, blockchain, and IoT to ensure product traceability and quality, connecting consumers directly with farmers.[1][2]
History
Anveshan was founded by three graduates from IIT Guwahati, inspired by the financial hardships faced by farmers in Kuldeep Parewa’s ancestral village in Rajasthan. The company began with a mission to provide chemical-free, traceable food products while empowering farmers through technology and direct market access.[3]
In 2020, Anveshan raised ₹1.12 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Titan Capital.[4] The company secured $5.23 million across seven funding rounds, with its latest seed round of $1.89 million in January 2024, led by investors like DSG Consumer Partners, Titan Capital, and LetsVenture. Anveshan’s valuation reached $19.3 million by 2024.[5][6]
In 2023, Anveshan was ranked 4th in Inc42’s FAST42 list of India’s top D2C brands, reflecting its rapid growth and consumer trust.[7]
Products and Services
Anveshan’s product portfolio includes cold-pressed oils (such as coconut and groundnut), A2 Vedic Bilona ghee, organic honey, and superfoods like chia seeds and moringa powder. These are minimally processed using traditional methods to preserve nutritional value.[8] The company uses technologies like blockchain for supply chain transparency and spectroscopy for quality control, ensuring chemical-free products.[9]
Anveshan also supports farmers by providing financial aid, food-processing equipment, and a direct-from-farm supply chain, enhancing rural livelihoods.[10] Its products are sold through its website, Amazon.in, and other e-commerce platforms.[11]
Business Model
Anveshan operates a direct-to-consumer model, selling products through its website and third-party platforms. Revenue is generated from product sales, with an operating range of ₹1 crore to ₹100 crore in FY23.[12] The company reported a 542.47% revenue increase in FY22 but faced a 991.69% profit decline, reflecting heavy investment in growth.[13]
Anveshan’s supply chain eliminates intermediaries, ensuring fair prices for farmers and transparency for consumers.[14]
Market Presence
Anveshan primarily serves the Indian market, focusing on health-conscious urban consumers. As of February 2025, the company had 92 employees and competed with brands like Wingreens and Open Secret.[15] Its products are available in over 500 cities across India, with plans to expand internationally.[16]
Reception
Anveshan has been praised for its commitment to sustainable agriculture and farmer empowerment, earning recognition at events like AAHAR 2023.[17] Customers have lauded its ghee and honey for health benefits, such as aiding digestion and holistic healing.[18]
However, employee reviews on AmbitionBox rate the company 3.8/5, citing poor career growth (2.4/5) and internal politics as drawbacks.[19] Some customers have reported inconsistent product availability during peak demand.[20]
Future Plans
Anveshan aims to expand its product line with new superfoods and explore international markets, particularly in North America and Europe. The company is also investing in artificial intelligence to enhance quality testing and supply chain efficiency.[21][22]
